Day 2: Colombo

Tour of Colombo in a world war II Jeep.

Your private tour starts as you hop aboard your World War II–era Jeep, part of a classic fleet that gets plenty of attention on the streets of Colombo. Enjoy a drive around the city to see landmarks, cultural sites, historical buildings, and more. Such attractions include Galle Face Green, the Dutch Hospital, Old Parliament Building, the Lighthouse, Colombo Harbour, the Slave Island area, Gangarama Temple, the War Memorial, Colombo Public Library, Colombo National Museum, Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Viharamahadevi Park, Town Hall, the race course shopping area, Independence Square, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, and a replica of the Aukana Buddha statue. Then head outside the city to Attidiya Bird Sanctuary, a wetlands area where birds thrive. During your tour, you are welcome to drive the Jeep yourself, if you want, either in the bird sanctuary or in the city. Bottled water, juice, soft drinks, and a snack are included, and you'll be provided with a tour video clip as a souvenir, filmed in high definition before your tour ends with a hotel drop-off.
